Tuesday Crisis: The Google Cloud Outage
Some apps and services such as Spotify, Discord, Snapchat and Etsy appear to be recovering after experiencing problems on Tuesday following a brief Google Cloud outage.
Other sites such as Cloudflare, Mailchimp, Pokemon Go and Facebook also experienced problems.
Google Cloud, and the service’s status page continues to show that a network issue is causing problems resulting in the 404 errors that appeared on the affected web pages. An update to the status page posted at 1:17 p.m. (ET) says that “the issue with the Google Cloud network has been partially resolved,” and it appears that most services are back up and running, although some are experiencing some errors or prolonged load times.
Google’s status page notes that there is currently no deadline for the issue to be fully resolved.
